The latest Gallup survey reported by the New York Post, March 30, 2021, shows that church attendance in America is at an all-time low. These numbers could correlate to the pandemic, so how can your local church start to drive these numbers up since we are at the end of the shutdowns?

Let the world know that your doors are once again opened. Plan to announce this on all social media platforms. Make sure your sign outside says something eye-catching to let people know your doors are open. Do a local mailing to the general public welcoming them. Call the local radio stations and ask for a free service announcement. Call local cable channels and ask them for a free service announcement.

Start keeping better track of how many people are walking through the door. Start counting heads and documenting the numbers.

It is critical at this moment in time that you remind everyone that you are not a house divided and that we are One with Him. Drive home the message that people are not here in the church because of politics; we are here with the same shared objective.

The Bible tells us so: And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near, (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Some people near and far may not have a way to attend, and most have learned how to broadcast their service over social media; therefore, just because the pandemic may be over, do not stop broadcasting your service. Try and increase the viewership by streaming your service over FB or start a YouTube Channel and upload each service for people to watch at will.

Always end the service on a cliff-hanger to encourage folks to return for more. Offer something light-hearted and fun during the service, do something a bit surprising, unexpected and out of the norm. Give people something to talk about.

“So many of us walk into a worship service completely distracted by the things that life throws our way. It’s imperative that we remind our people “why” we are at church. It’s imperative that we remove the focus from ourselves and turn our full attention toward God. The music and message of this very upbeat worship intro mini-movie will help prepare your church to worship in spirit and in truth. Encourage your congregation to Worship Him!”
